This is a one-of-a-kind first volume of stories from Kenpoists around the globe. The Journey had stories from 26 kenpoists -- this book takes it a few steps further. Amy Long has compiled the stories from 123 kenpoists. We have stories from many first generation kenpoists, telling of their journey in kenpo, what started them in kenpo and what kept them going.
This is a piece of history. There are kenpoists from several prominent lineages, as well as both American Kenpo and Tracy Kenpo practitioners. The idea of the book was to show some of the many directions that kenpo has taken over the years and give us a glimpse of where its going.
The stories of the vast majority of the people in there are humble and grateful and fun to read. If you are interested in kenpo history and are curious to know how many of our kenpo brothers and sisters are related (by lineage), then this is a crucial addition to your kenpo library.
This is a one-time run of the book, so when they're gone, they're gone.
The book turned out beautifully. I did my best to confirm what people told me and the ones that seemed wilder were indeed confirmed. While there are a few people in it who are definitely doing some horn-tooting, most of the people in the book told their personal, and often moving, stories of how they got into kenpo and how kenpo affected their lives.
This is a one-time printing for this book, so when they're gone they're gone. You can get them in person from Lee Wedlake, Edmund Parker Jr., Dennis Conatser, Dave Crouch (at Joa Quinn's school) and several practioners in Ireland. (Eddie Downey and Patrick Kennedy had some, but I don't know if they still do.)
I am currently offering the book at a 20% off discount. As I said, once they are gone, they are gone, so get it now while you have a chance.
I do hope to do another one in 2012, to be published in 2013 (assuming the world doesn't end, of course), so keep this address and/or sign up for the newsletter so you can make sure to be in it. I was surprised how many people were upset they hadn't gotten in it --after the fact. The next version will (hopefully) have more of the 'old guard' kenpo seniors. I'm going to try to get as many in as possible before they die. lol

The book has 123 people in it. It looks beautiful and I'm really pleased with it. It's a really great read.

If you'd like to get a 'monthly' email about upcoming kenpo events around the world, please sign up on the list above. I put 'monthly' in quotes because I'm basically going to send it when I get around to it, hopefully at least once a month. :)
If you have an upcoming event, send me an email letting me know about it. The farther in advance the better. Send it to kenpokaratechick@gmail.com
If you have a website, I'm happy to put it on the free kenpo toolbar if it has articles, videos or event information.
